How HTML just got less scary!

My first stop was LinkedIn Learning. First af all I had to choose a tutorial I will do. I decided on this one - HTML Essential Training by Jen Simmons. I liked that it starts with introducing the syntax and making sure that you are aware what HTML is after all, before you even attempt to use it. The segments were really well organised, they followed a certain logic and really helped me to understand that there is nothing to be scared of. I am polylingual after all, this was just another language I was trying to 'speak'.

The more I got into this, the more I found it fascinating in a way. HTML is intuitive, it is logical and most importantly it made sense now. I make it sound easy but it was not. It took a lot of going back and forth through the tutorial, a lot of practicing and trying things for myself to see how it works and a lot of new found confidence. I made Word files on everything I think might be useful to me, and will definitely come back to those more than once, when the actual building of the website starts. I am also constantly practicing on different exercises at w3schools but now I am not just copying the code, I actually understand what I am doing. I started with that HTML Examples  and build my knowledge from there. I might not end up a web designer or even do well in the assignment, but at the end of this teaching block I want to have the confidence to say that I know HTML. Or at least I am starting to know it. I will not get good at this if I limit it only to this particular task. I am preparing now to move to CSS and research more about  web design, but I will definitely come back to LinkedIn Learning in the future and do more on HTML. As additional help I used that book which I took from the library. I tend to rely a lot on reading lists for my modules and this seemed like a useful one. I wasn't wrong! While I prefer video tutorials where I can practice alongside the different segments, there were a lot of things that I double checked in the book and some pretty good examples and explanations.
